Aaron Dmiszewicki

Aaron Dmiszewicki, Attorney at Davant Law specializes in maritime law, marine insurance and maritime appeals. Although he was born in New Jersey, he grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. Aaron holds a B.A. in Political Science from Duke University, where he minored in Latin and received a certificate in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. He also received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating magna cum laude and becoming an Articles and Comments Editor for the University of Miami Business Law Review.

Aaron began his career as an Associate Attorney at a regional Florida law firm, where he represented insurance companies in coverage defense actions, as well as individuals and businesses in insurance defense litigation. He then joined Davant Law in 2018 as an Associate and quickly became a Partner in 2020. Aaron’s motivation for practicing law stems from his passion for solving complex problems and puzzles.

Although Aaron did not initially set out to specialize in maritime law, he fell into it and found it fascinating. He appreciates the unique combination of centuries-old common law, pre-Civil War statutes, and modern problems that require careful analysis and a nuanced approach. When he is not practicing law, Aaron enjoys participating in trivia contests and credits The Golden Ass (the ancient Roman novel by Apuleius) for inspiring him to want to know everything, or at least most things.

Aaron is admitted in Florida and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
